About the University of Minnesota NanoBiotechnology Initiative (UMNBI)

The development of the UMNBI will strengthen the participating Departments and Centers by providing nanotechnological research expertise that can be applied across the range of biomedical research at the University of Minnesota.  This translation will be supported by the availability of funds for pilot projects and the development of necessary core facilities and programs.  It is anticipated that the broadly-based application of nanoscale approaches to biomedical problems will generate substantial intellectual property for the University with significant potential for technology transfer.
